Coach Molander began his coaching career as a Receivers Coach at the University of Northern Colorado in 1989. He went on to coach quarterbacks and receivers at Boulder High School, in Boulder, Colorado. After he retired from playing he became owner, trainer, and coach of Personalized Quarterback Training in Denver Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona from 1994 to 2000. He was Offensive Coordinator for both the Espoo Colts (1993) and Helsinki Roosters (1997-1998) in Helsinki, Finland. He officially started at Brophy in 2001 as the Linebacker and Quarterback Coach. He spent the next two years in the Press Box with the headphones on giving vital input to the team. In his debut year as Head Coach, Andrew "Scooter" Molander and the rest of his staff and team made school history. The first ever State Championship in football. Much of this can be attributed to the outstanding work ethic that Coach Molander has developed over the years he has been associated with football. The victory was a stunning 15-14 victory over nationally ranked and 2-time defending state champion Hamilton High School. Coach Molander was named 5A Coach of the Year by every publication in the state. The victory also gave Coach Molander's Broncos the best record in school history at 13-1. Brophy's first State Championship is added to the Desert Valley Region Championship and a dramatic victory over St. Mary's 21-14 in 2005! In 2006 Brophy wins back to back Desert Valley Region Championships under Coach Molander's leadership. 2007 is Coach Molander's 3rd year as head coach and 7th season overall at Brophy, and the year Coach Molander brings home the AZ 5A1 State Championship for the second time in three years! In 2008 the Broncos, after going 2-3 to open the season, win 9 games in a row to reach the finals for the third time in a row.
Accomplishments as a player:
Coach Molander was a quarterback during his high school days at Corona Del Sol in the early '80's. After high school Scooter continued playing and attended Phoenix College and then Colorado State University, where he earned a bachelors degree in Social Sciences with an Emphasis in Political Science in 1990. Once his college career ended his professional football career began. Molander played in the NFL, AFL, the Professional Spring Football League, and the World League of American Football. He has been a member of the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Charlotte Rage, Las Vegas Sting, Anaheim Piranhas, Portland Lightening Bolts, and New York/New Jersey Knights.
