Birthday: Coach Kalkman was born in 1965 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He and his seven brothers and two sisters all attended St. Cloud Cathedral High School. Bill was a football all-region and all-area wide receiver and defensive back. In high school he managed to earn good grades while being involved in numerous high school activities including Student Council, Football, Track, Basketball, Cross Country Skiing, Show Choir, Choir, Band, Marching Band, Minnesota Boys State, Canadian Canoe excursion, and worked several jobs and school work study to pay for his tuition.

Family: Bill and his wife Marcia, who is also a teacher, have been married since 1989 and have two young children, Keegan and Carina. They have enjoyed many extensive travel excursions to destinations all around the world during their school breaks.
Coaching History:
Coach Kalkman started coaching as a Graduate Assistant – receivers coach at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. He completed his Masters degree in that one year and then became a teacher, head football coach and head track coach at Thomas More HS in Milwaukee WI from 1988 until 1996. In the fall of 1996 and 1997 he assistant coached the offensive backfield of the Gilbert Tigers here in Arizona. Chandler Hamilton High School opened in 1998 and coach Kalkman became the offensive line coach and head track coach. After 6 years at Hamilton and one football championship, coach Kalkman joined the Brophy Broncos in 2004 and helped Brophy bring home the state championship in 2005, the regional championship in 2006 and the state championship again in 2007!. In addition to coaching football, he teaches Biology and is the head track coach here at Brophy.
Accomplishments as a player:
Coach Kalkman started all four years at wide receiver in a record setting passing offense and the University of Minnesota, Morris Cougars were conference champions both his sophomore (1984) and senior (1986) seasons. He competed in Track and Field as well and was involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
