[May 12] Broncos' junior Will Edwards leads the Brophy Lacrosse team to the state championship with a 7-6 win over Desert Vista.
[May 6] Brophy seniors Devon Allen, Clarence Clark, D'Amani Grayer and Robert Relf, junior Bobby Grant and Sophomore Isaiah Oliver will compete for Brophy's second big-school Division 1 state track championship in three years Wednesday, May 8, and Saturday, May 11, at Mesa Community College.

[April 6] Saturday, at the Arcadia, CA, Invitational national track meet, senior Devon Allen won the 110HH and placed second in the 300IMs. The Arcadia Invite--at which Devon has won seven gold medals over two years--marked Devon's first hurdle competitions of the 2013 track season. In Friday competition, Brophy hurdlers Devon, junior Robert Grant and sophomore Isaiah Oliver placed first in the 4x110HH shuttle relay , improving on their winning time from 2012. [April 1] Ryan Castellani (BCP 2014) recorded his third complete game shutout of the baseball season, moving to 5-1 for the season, with a 2-0 home win against Yuma Kofa.
[March 24] Brophy football was well represented at the Chandler Rotary Invitational track meet Saturday, led by junior Robert Grant --winner of the 300-meter hurdles-- and senior Devon Allen, both on the winning 4x100 relay team with senior Robert Relf and the winning 4x400 relay team with sophomore Isaiah Oliver. The 4x400 team set the Brophy school record at 3:21.43, a top-ten national time.
[March 22] Brophy hurdles trio of Devon Allen (BCP 2013), Robert Grant (BCP 2014) and Isaiah Oliver (BCP 2015) are among the top state, national hurlders. Devon, who as a junior eclipsed the Arizona high school state records in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, has signed with Oregon for football and track. Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) and Phillip Mourikes (BCP 2014) helped lead Brophy soccer to the Division 1 state championship. Goalie Mourikes, who converted 69 of 71 PATs and four of five field goals last fall, held Desert Vista scoreless during the Broncos' 2-0 championship victory. Brophy wrestling senior co-captain Kaleb Mosier finished third at 220 pounds in the Division 1 state wrestling tournament. Kaleb, a two year starter at defensive end, recorded 4 wins and 1 loss at state, improving his season record to 32-5.
Soccer goal keeper Phillip Mourikes (BCP 2014) held semifinal opponent Tolleson to one goal in a 3-1 double overtime soccer victory. Good luck to senior captain Clarence Clark and Broncos' soccer in the state championship game against Desert Vista, Feb. 9 at Campo Verde HS.
Brophy wrestling senior co-captain Kaleb Mosier captured the Division I, Section 2 title at 220 pounds. The Broncos' DE, with a 28-4 record on the mat this season, secured a top seed for the state wrestling tournament this weekend in Prescott.
Following an impressive 4-0 win over Hamilton Saturday afternoon at the BSC, Brophy soccer advances to the state championships semi-final game against Tolleson at Campo Verde HS, 7PM Thursday, Feb. 7. With Brophy holding a 2-1 lead late in the first half, junior goalie Phillip Mourikes (K/DB) entered the game, holding Hamilton scoreless for the remainder of the game. Kaleb Mosier (BCP 2013) advanced his Brophy wrestling career on Senior Night at Brophy with a pin to push his team to victory over O'Connor in its final dual match. Kaleb will complete his Broncos' wrestling career with the sectional and state tournaments, starting next weekend, February 1-2. As a three-sport varsity athlete, Kaleb's message to his underclassmen teammates was to participate in other Brophy sports during the off-season. Kaleb is a member of the Brophy varsity football (all-section defensive lineman), wrestling (220 lbs weight class) and track teams.
Senior receiver and kicker Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) was named to the All Tournament team at the presitigious Monteverde Academy soccer showcase in Florida. Brophy soccer finisheding second in the showcase, defeating the top-ranked team in the country along the way to securing a top-ten national reanking. Our first report on 2012-13 multi-sports athletes is about Kaleb Mosier (BCP 2013). Five days after the conclusion of his successful football career as a two-year starter on the defensive line, Kaleb won his first wrestling match of the season at the 220 pounds weight class with a pin over his Chaparral opponent. Keenan Woodburn (BCP 2015) also posted a win for the Broncos' varsity wrestling squad.
Brophy football supports the contributions our varsity football multisports athletes make to the Brophy athletic program, encouraging participation with all Brophy sports teams. The football team acknowledges its 2011-12 three-sport athletes: Robert Relf (BCP 2013)--football, basketball and track; Clarence Clark (BCP 2013)--football, soccer and track; Kaleb Mosier (BCP 2013)--football, wrestling and track; and Greg Wirth (BCP 2013)--football, basketball and baseball.

[June 24] Brophy's hurdle duo of Devon Allen (BCP 2013) and Bobby Grant (BCP 2014) swept the 110 meter high and 300 meter intermediate hurdles races in the Arizona Sprints Showcase national invite track meet put on by the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission. Bobby ran a personal best, 37.95 in the 300, breaking the 38 second mark for the first time. Devon completed a very ambitious off-season track schedule racing--and winning-- against the best throughout North America. Brophy’s Varsity Lacrosse team won its 4th state championship in the last 6 seasons, defeating Chaparral, 9-5, in the state championship title game at ASU on May 5. LB Zach Zemer (BCP 2012) was named Player of the Game and First Team All State. RB Will Edwards (BCP 2014)helped the Broncos complete the first and only perfect season in BCP history as a long stick midfielder. Brophy was 17-0 against Arizona competition and 22-2 overall this year.
More gold for Brophy track stars: At the season-ending Meet of Champions held at the Brophy Sports Campus, WR/K Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) won the long jump with a leap of 22' and DB Bobby Grant (BCP 2014) won the 300 intermediate hurdles with a sophomore school record time of 38.12. The Meet of Champions features the state champions from all four divisions along with the top track performers. Both performances established new Brophy Sports Campus records.
Ryan Castellani (BCP 2014) completes his Broncos baseball sophomore season in the Division I championship game going 2 for 3, with a lead off homerun and triple, scoring two of Brophy's three runs. Devon Allen (BCP 2013) books another record setting meet performance as Brophy track completes a successful season with a second place finish in the Division I state meet. Devon established two state m eet records while winning the 110 high hurdles in 13.58 and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles in 36.94. He finished second in the 100 at 10.49 and 200 at 20.75 , establishing new Brophy school records in both sprints. Edged our by only 1/100th of a second in the two sprints, Devon's time in the 200 was the fourth fastest all-time in Arizona. D'Amani Grayer (BCP 2013) finished ninth in the 100, with a 10.97. Bobby Grant (BCP 2014) was third in the 300 and ninth in the 110 hurdles. Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) took ninth in the long jump and joined D'Amani and Bobby for sixth in the 4x100 relay. In the Hohokam Invitational track meet at Mesa Westwood April 20, Devon Allen (BCP 2013) set a new Brophy school record with his win the 100 meters at 10.51 (F.A.T.). D'Amani Grayer (BCP 2013) also broke the electronically-timed 11-second threshold, with an impressive 10.90, finishing sixth in the 100 meters, just ahead of Robert Relf (BCP 2013) at seventh. They also won the 4x100 relay, with teammate Bobby Grant (BCP 2014). Brophy freshman Isaiah Oliver (BCP 2015) recorded an impressive 10th in the 110 high hurdles.

Devon established new Brophy and Arizona state high school records in winning the 110 meter high hurdles at 13.52 and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles at 36.39. Devon also won the 200 meter dash with a 21.10 (best all-time at Arcadia, also a new Brophy record). All this after Devon, Bobby, D'Amani and Isaiah Oliver (BCP 2015) captured the shuttle hurdle relay title Friday night. BIG news from the prestigious Chandler Rotary Invitational track meet: Brophy junior WR/DB Devon Allen (BCP 2013) was named the meet's Outstanding Male Track Athlete. During the elite Chandler Rotary competition, Devon established a new Arizona state high school track record, two meet and Brophy school records and was part of a third Brophy school record. After a 13.70 during the preliminaries coming close to the 110-meter high hurdle state record 13.69 established in 1980, Devon set the state, meet and school high hurdles record with a 13.62 in the finals. Later, in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Devon broke the Brophy school and meet records held by his former teammate now running track for Columbia University, WR Harry Danlevics (BCP 2010), with a 37.07, finishing just .03 off the state record time. Brophy's sophomore DB Bobby Grant (BCP 2014) was runner up in the 300 hurdles. The prior school record for 110 high hurdles was held by RB/DB Ray Polk (BCP 2008), who this season completed his successful collegiate football career at Colorado. Devon and Bobby joined LB/S/TE Robert Relf (BCP 2013) and RB/DB D'Amani Grayer (BCP 2013) to improve the school record with a 41.79 in the 4X100, good for second (a fraction behind Long Beach (Cal.) Poly's 41.74) and fourth best all time for the Chandler Rotary. Congratulations are in order for head track and field coach/offensive coordinator Bill Kalkman and the entire team as the defending big-school state champions Brophy Broncos finished second in the 72d Chandler Rotary among the field of 105 track teams, including top squads from Arizona, Texas, California, Colorado, Idaho and New Mexico.
Among soccer post-season honors, WR/K Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) was named to the All-East Valley Tribune second team and Division I honorable mention by the Arizona Republic/AZCentral.com.

Brophy athletes set school record in the 4x100 relay at the AMDG track and field invitational at the Brophy Sports Campus. WR Clarence Clark (BCP 2013), WR Devon Allen (BCP 2013),DB Bobby Grant (BCP 2014) and RB D'Amani Grayer (BCP 2013) recorded a 41.95 (electronic time) in the 400 meter relay. Last week at the Toro Invite, Devon Allen (BCP 2013) eclipsed his school record in the 100 meters during the first official high school meet of the season (10.73 electronic timing).
Zack Ze mer (BCP 2012) and the Brophy lacrosse team opened the season with a big win at home ov er rival Chaparral.
Our first spring 2012 multisports athlete headline is a big one, with sophomore safety/WR Ryan Castellani (BCP 2014) blasting back-to-back homers in his first two varsity at bats against Chandler Wednesday, followed by a two-RBI double Wednesday night against Seton Catholic.
AIA Division I Winter State Tournament Results: BA SKETBALL: Fred Gammage (BCP 2012) and Robert Relf (BCP 2013) led the Broncos' in the state championship playoffs, with first- and second-round victories last week, before loosing in the quarterfinals to top-seed Corona Del Sol. SOCCER: Congratulations to Zach Hudson (BCP 2012), Clarence Clark (BCP 2013) and Philip Mourikes (BCP 2014), for a successful soccer season with the runner-up Broncos. WRESTLING: Congratulations to Kaleb Mosier (BCP 2013) for a successful wrestling season, capped by third-place at 195 in the sectionals.
