[October 21]  Richard Obert's update on injured Westwood quarterback:  "Mesa Westwood had a big scare on the last play of the game against top-ranked Brophy Prep with quarterback Mikey Egger going down. He was immoblized. Coach Spencer Stowers said Saturday morning that Egger was doing much better. He called it a minor injury to his neck (strained muscles), but he isn't sure if he will be able to play against Phoenix Mountain Pointe on Friday.  "The Brophy family was first class regarding the incident," Stowers said. "Their medical team, coaching staff, players and parents displayed professionalism, character and sportsmanship. My hat goes off to the Brophy football family." [August 20] FoxSportsArizona announced that the September 2d Brophy home game against Anthem Boulder Creek will be webcast live from Phoenix College on FoxSportsArizona.com.

[August 12]  Former Brophy coach and parent of Broncos Nic (BCP 2008) and Jack (BCP 2013), Gene Nudo, was selected for the Arena Football League Hall of Fame.  Coach Nudo, now president and GM of the Chicago Rush, joins an impressive group, including Valley favorite Kurt Warner, in the HOF class for induction in 2012.  Look for a feature story on the Home Page soon.  Click here: Hunkie Cooper, Kurt Warner elected to AFL Hall of Fame 

[August 10] A list of the top ten Arizona high school football dynasties over the past five seasons compiled by MaxPreps.com using computer rankings has been published on Arizona Central. At number 7, Brophy was 38-15 over the period. The records reveal that the Broncos played the strongest schedule in the top ten based on opponent winning percentage (.6220), not to mention Brophy is one of three of the top ten teams from the big school division (the old 5A-1 conference, now Division I).  Click here: azcentral.com blogs - Richard Obert - Richardobert - Top 10 Arizona football dynasties

[August 22] Brophy quartet among the top ten returning Arizona high school position players highlighted by the Arizona Republic: quarterback Tyler Bruggman (BCP 2013) is ranked fifth among the elite group, the top underclassman QB; Marche Dennard (BCP 2013) is selected in the top ten returning running backs; Devon Allen (BCP 2013) is listed in the top ten returning wide receivers, at #4 the only underclassman on the WR list; and Robert Relf (BCP 2013) recognized among the top ten at linebacker. Two Broncos were named top ten players to watch this season by the East Valley Tri  b Varsity Xtra: Devon Allen, offense, and Robert Relf, defense. Meanwhile, the Arizona Republic included Frederick Gammage (BCP 2012) among the top 100 seniors from the class of 2012.  Relf was also named as one of three juniors to watch.
